In June 2024, Dow, a leading materials science company, announced the launch of its innovative REVOLOOPTMM Recycled Plastics Resins family. This milestone aligns with Dow’s commitment to advancing circularity and transforming waste. As part of its sustainability strategy, Dow aims to introduce three million metric tons of sustainable and circular solutions to the market annually by 2030.
The introduction of REVOLOOPTM Plastics Resins is a significant step toward this goal. Dow has pledged to assist partners and consumers in deriving maximum value from plastic waste. Two new REVOLOOPT Plastics Resin grades have been introduced and approved for use in non-food contact packaging. One variant is composed entirely of post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, while the other formulated grade consists of up to 85% PCR derived from household waste.
The global PCR plastic packaging market is experiencing significant expansion. Valued at USD 42.08 billion in 2023, the market is projected to reach USD 82.40 billion by 2034, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.3% from 2024 to 2034. This growth reflects increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions and the commitment of key industry players to circular economy principles.

In October 2024, Berry Global, a prominent packaging company, unveiled a new line of clarified polypropylene (PP) bottles designed for healthcare use. These bottles reportedly reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 71% and offer enhanced recyclability compared to traditional colored PET pill bottles.
Designed for a variety of products, including vitamins, nutraceuticals, nutritional supplements, beauty supplements, and over-the-counter medications, the ClariPPil bottles provide excellent functionality, product protection, and visual appeal. When combined with Berry’s PP closures, the bottles have received a RecyClass A certification, ensuring recyclability in countries with the necessary recycling infrastructure.
Berry Global has been actively expanding its operations. In August 2023, the company merged its M&H and PET Power divisions to create Berry Agile Solutions, a Europe-wide enterprise. The newly formed entity offers short lead times and low minimum order quantities (MOQs), including multi-product orders, catering to evolving industry needs.

ExxonMobil has also demonstrated its commitment to sustainability by recycling over 90% of its lubricant operations waste annually for new applications, reinforcing its dedication to a circular economy.

This external growth initiative underscores the company’s strategy to expand its market presence and strengthen its production capabilities.
